PESHAWAR: Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) provincial chairman Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao on Thursday said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and its people are suffering the consequences of the PTI government’s “13 years of incompetence” in the form of inflation, unemployment, corruption, lawlessness, and political and economic instability.
Addressing a meeting of the party’s provincial office-bearers at Watan Kor Peshawar, Sherpao said the prevailing grave situation has plunged the people of the province into deep disappointment, making it necessary for QWP to play a more organised and active role. Limbo
The meeting was held on a four-point agenda, including preparations for the upcoming death anniversary of Shaheed-e-Watan Hayat Muhammad Khan Sherpao, preparations for the forthcoming local government elections, the overall disappointing political and economic situation in the province, and accelerating party activities.
All members of the provincial cabinet attended the meeting, shared their views on the agenda, and presented suggestions regarding strengthening the party, improving public outreach, observing the upcoming death anniversary of Hayat Muhammad Khan Sherpao in a befitting manner, and making comprehensive preparations for the local government elections.
Sikandar Sherpao said the death anniversary of Shaheed-e-Watan Hayat Muhammad Khan Sherpao would be observed with full dignity and respect. He said the struggle of Hayat Sherpao is a guiding light for every party worker and that following this path can help steer the province and its people out of the crises they face.
Referring to internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Tirah, the QWP leader said the current situation requires urgent relief and attention for the affected population, but both the federal and provincial governments have continued to ignore this serious issue. He demanded proper registration of the displaced persons from Tirah and the provision of basic facilities to them.
