LAHORE:Police have registered a case concerning the alleged abduction of Abid Wazir Khan, chief executive officer of a private educational institution, who went missing from the Johar Town area.

According to the first information report (FIR) lodged at Johar Town police station, the incident occurred around 6:34 pm on January 21, when Khan left the KIPS corporate office on Main Boulevard, Johar Town in his car.His brother Tahir Wazir Khan told police that shortly after leaving the office, Abid Wazir Khan called the principal of a private school. During the call, the principal reportedly heard someone knocking on the car window, followed by a voice claiming that an accident had occurred. The call was abruptly disconnected, and the executive’s mobile phone was subsequently switched off, rendering him untraceable. A spokesperson stated that search operations are underway, with teams analysing call data records and reviewing CCTV footage to reconstruct events and identify suspects.

Double murder suspect arrested

Sattukatla Investigation Police arrested a proclaimed offender involved in a double murder case from Rawalpindi. According to police, the suspect had killed his wife and sister in 2024 over domestic disputes and had been absconding since then. The arrest was made using modern technology and human intelligence.

Ichhra jeweller held

A suspect involved in the embezzlement of gold worth millions of rupees from IchhraJewellery Market has been arrested from Islamabad, said DIG Investigation Lahore Syed Zeeshan Reza. The arrest of the suspect was made after using modern technology and human intelligence. Further investigation of the arrested the main accused is underway, the DIG said, adding after completion of the investigation into the gold embezzlement case, all facts will be brought to light.

Youth commits suicide

An 18-year-old youth reportedly committed suicide in the Township area. According to Edhi officials, the victim, identified as Usman Shahid Hussain, was found hanging at his residence in BarkatChowk. Police shifted the body for postmortem and initiated legal proceedings.
