Funeral prayers for constable martyred in encounter offered

The funeral prayers of Constable Wajid Khan, who embraced martyrdom during an encounter with robbers in the SITE Area’s Metroville locality, were offered on Saturday after Zuhr prayers at the Garden Headquarters South.

The funeral was attended by Inspector General of Police Sindh Javed Alam Odho, Additional IG Karachi Azad Khan, DIGs of South and West, SSPs of Keamari and West, AIGs, senior officers from the welfare and administration branches, and a large number of police personnel. Family members of the martyred constable, along with relatives, friends and local residents, were also present in large numbers.

Odho expressed condolence and solidarity with the bereaved family, offered prayers and recited Fateha for the departed soul.

Later, a second funeral prayer of the martyred constable was offered after Asr prayers at a ground near his residence in the SITE Area. This prayer was also attended by the martyr’s family, relatives, friends, local residents and a large number of citizens.

Following the funeral prayers, Constable Wajid Khan was laid to rest at a local graveyard amid scenes of grief and sorrow.
