JCP for confirming 6 additional judges of PHC

ISLAMABAD: The Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) on Wednesday recommended confirmation of six Additional Judges as permanent Judges of Peshawar High Court (PHC) and also recommended extension of terms of four Additional judges for six months.

Meeting of the Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) was held here at the Conference Room of the Supreme Court for making recommendations for confirmation of Additional Judges as Judges of the PHC.

Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Yahya Afridi chaired the meeting being the Chairperson of the Commission. The Commission after thorough deliberations, recommended, by majority of its total membership, the confirmation of six Additional Judges as Judges of the Peshawar High Court, after due consideration of the relevant data form, antecedents and evaluation of material placed before it. The Additional Judges who were confirmed as permanent judges of the Peshawar High Court (PHC) included Justice Muhammad Tariq Afridi, Justice Abdul Fayaz, Justice Salahud Din, Justice Sadiq Ali, Justice Syed Mudasser Ameer and Justice Qazi Jawad Ehsanullah.

Similarly, the Commission, by majority of its total membership, recommended extension of term of the four Additional Judges of the Peshawar High Court for six months. The judges included Justice Ms Farah Jamshed, Justice Inam Ullah Khan, Justice Sabit Ullah Khan and Justice Aurangzeb.
