Gold rates up Rs900 per tola to new high

KARACHI: Gold prices rose by Rs900 per tola in the local market on Tuesday, tracking gains in the international bullion market. With this increase, gold prices reached a new all-time high in both the regional and global markets.

According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association (APSGJA), the price of 24-karat gold increased to Rs481,862 per tola.Similarly, the price of 10-gram gold rose by Rs771 to Rs413,118.In the international market, gold prices gained $9 to reach $4,595 per ounce.

Local bullion dealers said gold prices in Pakistan are typically adjusted with a premium of around $20 per ounce over international rates, reflecting exchange rate movements, import costs, and domestic market conditions.Silver prices also moved higher. Rates increased by Rs180 to Rs9,075 per tola, while the 10-gram silver price rose by Rs154 to Rs7,780.
