Balochistan is a land of beauty, but its highways have become a source of fear for every traveller. The main reason for this problem is the single road system where trucks and passenger buses have to pass each other with very little space. Many of these roads are also broken and filled with potholes. When you combine these bad roads with high speeds, old vehicles that are never checked and a lack of traffic police, the result is a disaster.
It is time for the government to take this issue seriously. We need dual carriageways (double roads). Splitting the traffic into two lanes would prevent head-on collisions. Better road maintenance and strict enforcement of traffic laws are also needed immediately.
