The acts of hooliganism committed by a group of lawyers in city courts’ premises, in which they allegedly assaulted Rajab Butt, speaks volumes about the criminal mentality of these so-called defenders of law. They also allegedly beat up a station house officer after a case was registered against them for their earlier assault on Butt.
Law officers are supposed to administer justice within the ambit of law. The provincial ministry of law should not act as a silent spectator to such criminal activities and is required to look into the matter seriously and hammer out a strategy/mechanism to prevent such incidents from happening again.
