The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) on Saturday arrested three alleged drug peddlers involved in operating an online narcotics supply network in the city.
According to SSP SIU Imran Khan, the suspects — identified as Gul Muhammad, Yasir, and Waseem — were arrested during a joint operation conducted in Defence Phase V, Khayaban-e-Bahria.
The police recovered 300 grams of highly potent weed, worth more than Rs2.5 million, from the suspects, along with an Alto car allegedly used for drug deliveries. The seized narcotics were said to be extremely hazardous.
Khan said the arrested suspects were running an online network to supply drugs in upscale areas of Karachi. They allegedly used social media applications to receive orders and delivered narcotics to customers, including college and university students.
He added that efforts were under way to obtain the suspects’ previous criminal records, while further legal action was being taken against them.
