CHARSADDA: Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) provincial Chairman Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao on Thursday urged the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to focus on resolving public problems and ensuring sustainable peace instead of getting entangled in non-issues.

He expressed these views while addressing a condolence reference held in Tangi Tehsil in memory of the late Musa Khan Safi, a former provincial president of the QWP Farmers Wing and a former nazim.

The party office-bearers and workers from the district, tehsil and local levels attended the event.Sikandar Sherpao said that his party was the only true representative of Pakhtuns and was playing an effective role for the protection of their rights.

Paying rich tribute to the services of the late Musa Khan Safi for the party and the area, he said that QWP had lost a sincere, active and mature worker whose absence would always be felt.He said that the QWP was actively working for social harmony and for the protection and welfare of public rights in the current politically tense and complex environment.

Sikandar Sherpao said that the public, particularly youth and underprivileged segments of society, were facing multiple economic and social problems, which, according to him, were being continuously ignored by the rulers.Expressing concern over the deteriorating law and order situation, Sikandar Sherpao said that it was a matter of serious concern for everyone.

He stressed that peace should be the top priority of the government, adding that social, economic and financial development was impossible without lasting peace. The QWP leader said that the current situation suggested that peace and prosperity were not among the priorities of those in power, as they were spending all their energies on non-issues.

He added that the people were feeling insecure and that the writ of the government was not visible anywhere. At the end of the event, collective prayers were offered for the elevation of the ranks of the departed soul.
