BATKHELA: A major operation was carried out in Dargai on Saturday against illegal encroachments and wrong parking.

The operation, carried out on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Fayyaz Khan and Assistant Commissioner Tehsil Dargai Shehbaz Khan, was supervised by Additional Assistant Commissioner Tehsil Dargai Mohibullah Khan, Subedar Major Malakand Levies Nek Rahman and others. A large contingent of Levies personnel participated, targeting vehicles causing traffic disruptions. Dozens of illegally parked vehicles were removed using lift trucks, heavy fines were imposed, and legal notices were issued.

In addition, hundreds of street vendors occupying sidewalks and public areas were removed during a grand operation. Several encroachment mafias were arrested and handed over to Dargai Police Station for legal action.

AC Mohibullah Khan and Subedar Major Rahman told the media that the provincial government had issued instructions following public complaints. Operations are being conducted in all major and minor markets of the district. Previous actions were carried out in Tehsil Batkhela, and similar operations were planned for Dargai and later in Sakhakot.
