ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly recorded significant legislative activity during the calendar year 2025 from January to December, with a substantial number of bills including 27th Constitutional Amendment, resolutions, and motions processed across various parliamentary stages.

According to the data of National Assembly, a total of 42 government bills were introduced in the National Assembly, with all of them being passed, while 16 government bills were transmitted from the Senate.

On the private members’ side, 49 private members’ bills were introduced in the house, 30 were transmitted from the Senate, of which 13 private members’ bills were passed.

In terms of legislation enactment, 27 government bills and four private members’ bills were enacted into law, bringing the total number of Acts to 31. As many as eight ordinances were also laid down in National Assembly. The house also adopted 25 resolutions during the period under review.

Regarding parliamentary oversight, 336 calling attention notices were received, of which 53 were taken up for discussion in the house. Under the head of adjournment motions, a total of 11 motions were received, all of which were disallowed.

On the matter of privilege, 33 questions of privilege were received. Of which, six were referred to the relevant standing committees, while 16 remain under process. Additionally, nine were disallowed and two were withdrawn. Under Rule 259, the house received 295 motions, of which 55 were included in the orders of the day for discussion.
