MUZAFFARABAD/ISLAMABAD: Marking 30 days in office, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore has reiterated his government’s commitment to transparency, merit and public service.
Speaking to various delegations on Monday, Rathore said that soon after assuming office, his government put in place a clear policy framework for health, education, energy, road infrastructure, employment generation and administrative reforms.
He noted that effective mechanisms had been introduced during the past 30 days to improve discipline within government departments, make public offices more responsive and ensure the timely redressal of public grievances. Ministers and officers, he added, had also been directed to remain accessible to the public and address issues forthwith.
Highlighting key priority areas of his government, the AJK premier said the health and education sectors were receiving focused attention, with steps under way to improve facilities at basic health centres, hospitals and educational institutions.
He further said special schemes were being planned to create employment and skill-building opportunities for youth.
He said the government would announce additional public welfare initiatives in the coming days and reaffirmed his resolve to steer AJK towards development, prosperity and stability. Referring to the Kashmir issue, Rathore said the PPP government would actively promote the Kashmir cause at international forums, adding that raising concern over Indian brutalities in occupied Jammu and Kashmir remains a constitutional, moral and political obligation of the base camp government.
