Islamabad:In response to a heightened regional security landscape, the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police have announced a comprehensive security blanket to protect upcoming public gatherings celebrating the birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Christmas.

The security strategy was finalized during a high-level briefing chaired by DIG Security Muhammad Atique Tahir. The meeting, which included AIG Special Branch Muhammad Sarfraz Virk and other senior command staff, focused on pre-emptive measures to maintain public order and neutralize potential threats during the holiday period.

To ensure the safety of the federal capital, the DIG Security issued a series of directives aimed at hardening "soft targets" and public venues. Key components of the security plan includes, enforcement of rigorous screening protocols at all entry and exit points of the city and event perimeters. Maximizing the use of modern surveillance resources, including CCTV networks and advanced monitoring tools.

Deployment of additional personnel at sensitive locations and religious sites to provide a visible deterrent. And all security personnel have been placed on standby to respond rapidly to any emergency. Addressing the officers, DIG Tahir underscored that the protection of civilian life and property remains the department's primary mandate. He warned that any lapse in duty or negligence regarding the established protocols would be met with strict disciplinary action.
