ISLAMABAD: Secretary General Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Humayun Khan has directed all party supporters, workers and office-bearers to reach Garhi Khuda Bakhsh on December 27 with traditional devotion and respect to observe the martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.
“A historic public gathering will be held at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh on the martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, which will be addressed by Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari,” he said in a statement on Friday.
The PPP secretary general stated that special prayers will be offered at the exact time of the martyrdom of Benazir Bhutto on December 27, while poets will present tributes to the martyrs of democracy on the occasion.
He further said commemorative events will be organised at divisional and district levels across the country, which will include Quran Khwani, prayer ceremonies, seminars and condolence gatherings. Humayun Khan added that caravans of party workers and supporters from all provinces, cities, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir (AJK) will reach Garhi Khuda Bakhsh to pay rich tributes to Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. He emphasised that the sacrifices, struggle and services of Benazir Bhutto for democracy will always be remembered, adding PPP will continue to carry forward her mission under the leadership of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
