LAHORE:Two suspected criminals were killed in an alleged encounter with the Crime Control Department (CCD) in the Batapur area on Thursday, while their accomplices managed to flee.

According to officials, the incident occurred during an operation in Batapur when suspects opened fire. Two of the suspects were reportedly hit by gunfire from their own accomplices and died on the spot, while others escaped. Police shifted the bodies to morgue. The deceased suspects were identified as Ali Raza and Mansab Ali.

Two rashly-driven cars hit biker to death

One person died and another sustained critical injuries in a traffic accident near the DHA Phase 6 underpass on Thursday.According to Rescue officials, two overspeeding cars ran over motorcycle riders, resulting in the death of 56-year old Irshad Ali, while 50-year old Muhammad Younis was critically injured.

Meanwhile, CCPO Lahore said strict and indiscriminate action was under way.

Foreign national held for assaulting woman

Sattukatla police have arrested a Nigerian national on charges of sexually assaulting a foreign woman.According to officials, the suspect, identified as Ekene Victor, allegedly trapped the victim and lured her to his house, where he sexually assaulted her. The victim later approached the police, leading to the registration of a case on her complaint. The victim was also a resident of Nigeria.
