ISLAMABAD: Dr. Oumer Hussein Oba has arrived to assume office as Ethiopian Ambassador to Pakistan. He has replaced Dr. Jemal Beker Abdula, who left Islamabad upon completing his tenure and returned to Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, for his next assignment.
Foreign Office’s Africa Desk has notified the arrival of the new Ethiopian envoy. He will be presenting his credentials to President Asif Ali Zardari early next month, sources said.
In an unrelated development, the Bangladesh High Commission observed its first Victory Day in its new compound in diplomatic enclave here Tuesday. BD High Commissioner Muhammad Iqbal Hussain Khan led his mission in the celebrations. The High Commission has recently shifted to its chancery to a new location within the Diplomatic Enclave. The mission announced that all services, including consular facilities, are now being provided from the new premises. According to an official statement, the High Commission has moved to its own building in Block 15, Street 33, Diplomatic Enclave, Islamabad. The relocation aims to streamline operations and ensure the continuation of all diplomatic and consular services under one roof. The High Commission also informed that effective immediately, services such as visa processing, passport renewals, and other consular assistance will be available only from the new address.
