LAHORE:A groundbreaking pilot initiative is under way in Pakistan to train eagles to intercept unauthorised drones, with the first royal eagle now deployed at East Continental Falconry Pakistan, a spokesman said on Sunday.According to a press release issued here, the programme seeks to explore biological counter-drone capabilities in response to rising security concerns over the misuse of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
East Continental Falconry Pakistan, a key part of the Ornithology Research Initiative led by Prof Dr Aurangzeb Hafi, specialises in the conservation and study of rare raptors, including eagles, falcons, hawks, and harriers.
