I wish to highlight the continuing decline in educational standards across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. From primary schools to universities, academic quality has weakened and postgraduate institutions, in particular, are restricting teaching to a few simplified topics while ignoring deeper and essential subject areas. Another major cause of this decline is the practice of keeping Saturday as a non-teaching day. Since Friday already has limited academic activity due to religious obligations, the closure of institutions on Saturday further reduces the effective teaching week. This results in poor subject coverage, weak classroom engagement and loss of academic discipline.
I urge the provincial government and education authorities to abolish Saturday as a holiday and restore it as a regular teaching day in all public and private postgraduate institutions. This step will strengthen learning, improve teaching quality and help raise the overall educational standard in the province.
