JAMRUD: Khyber District Police Officer Waqar Ahmed on Thursday visited Jamrud Bazaar and ordered action to end traffic congestion.
The DPO inspected temporary encroachments and illegal taxi stands set up along sidewalks and roadsides.The official directed the traffic staff to fine and register cases against those violating traffic rules. He asked them to ensure immediate and effective action against encroachments so that the flow of traffic would not be disrupted.
Traffic wardens took prompt action, removed the encroachments and warned the individuals involved that obstruction of public roads would not be tolerated.They urged traders, taxi drivers and the general public to cooperate with the police.
