KOHA: Regional Police Officer (RPO), Kohat range, Abbas Majid Marwat visited posts in boundary areas of Kohat, Karak, and Hangu, stressing the need for full-proof security measures to prevent terrorism.
Talking to the media, the RPO said that the police in the Kohat region were committed to protecting citizens and wouldl not hesitate to make sacrifices to ensure their safety. He instructed the district police officers of Karak and Hangu to enhance overall security arrangements.
During the visit, the RPO identified critical security aspects and issued immediate instructions to officers on-site to improve discipline, vigilance, and operational readiness. He also highlighted the need for additional personnel and essential resources to boost field performance and effectiveness.
In Karak, the RPO reviewed law and order, crime trends, security of sensitive locations, potential terrorist threats and operational preparedness. He stressed that protecting citizens, upholding the law, eradicating crime, and countering terrorist elements were the primary responsibilities of the police.
He gave instructions to intensify actions against anti-state elements, terrorist networks, and socially disruptive individuals. Officers were also directed to maintain strict surveillance on suspicious persons, tenants, and criminals, and to conduct effective patrols, checkpoints, and search operations to strengthen overall security.
The RPO also reviewed the security plan for the ongoing polio campaign, emphasizing foolproof protection for vaccination teams, route clearance, deployment of additional personnel at sensitive points, and close coordination with relevant agencies to ensure the campaign proceeds safely and uninterrupted.
