Rawalpindi:A ceremony was organized by Anjuman-e-Tajraan at Commercial Market, here, to pay tribute to the Pakistan armed forces’ sacrifices. Federal Minister for Railways, Hanif Abbasi, was the chief guest and received a warm welcome from traders and citizens, says a press release.
The event featured national songs and slogans, including ‘Long Live Pakistan Army’ and ‘Long Live General Asim Munir.’ Traders and citizens pledged to stand with the Pakistan Army and counter anti-state elements.
The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Office-bearers of the Traders Association, Commercial Market, including Raja Zafar Yousaf, Raja Asad Hameed, and Naqi Shah, attended the event, along with PML-N leaders.
In his address, Hanif Abbasi praised Malik Suhail Awan’s services to the trader community and urged solidarity with the Pakistan army. He thanked Malik Suhail Awan and his team for organising the ceremony and said the nation pays tribute to its martyrs and stands united for Pakistan’s defense.
Abbasi criticised supporters of the previous government for attacking institutions and calling terrorists ‘brothers’, saying terrorists are never anyone’s brothers. He added that Afghanistan’s hostility towards Pakistan continues through terrorism.
He praised General Asim Munir, saying Pakistanis are proud of their army chief, and highlighted Pakistan’s strengthening economy and strong voice in the Middle East. He credited Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s hard work and Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s projects for Rawalpindi.
