Islamabad: Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) celebrated International Mountain Day 2025 by organising a Sport Climbing event at the Climbing Wall, Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad, highlighting Pakistan’s growing focus on adventure and mountain sports.
The event was graced by Shahid Islam, Deputy Director General of Pakistan Sports Board, and Nobukuni Shinohara, First Secretary of the Embassy of Japan, as distinguished guests. They were received by Karar Haidri, Senior Vice President of the Alpine Club of Pakistan, and Najeeb Khattak, Convener and Head Coach of the Pakistan Sport Climbing Team. Participants displayed remarkable skill, strength, and discipline, reflecting the growing popularity of sport climbing among Pakistani youth.
The event aimed to raise awareness about mountain sports, environmental responsibility, and sustainable mountain development. Pakistan Sports Board reaffirmed its commitment to promoting adventure sports, sport climbing, and mountaineering culture in Pakistan, while encouraging youth participation and strengthening international sports cooperation.
