Islamabad: The Yunus Emre Institute’s Turkish Cultural Centre celebrated World Turkish Coffee Day at the National Press Club here under the auspices of the Embassy of Turkiye.

The event was attended by Turkish Ambassador Dr. Irfan Neziroglu, PM’s Coordinator Rana Ihsan and Parliamentary Secretary for Culture and Heritage Farrah Naz Akber.

Ambassador Neziroglu highlighted the historical and cultural significance of Turkish coffee and its role in strengthening ties between Turkiye and Pakistan.

Prof. Dr. Halil Toker (Sitara-e-Imtiaz), Turkiye Coordinator of the Yunus Emre Institute, said Turkish coffee is a centuries-old tradition symbolising friendship and respect, recalling the saying that “a cup of coffee is remembered for forty years.” Farrah Naz called for the celebration to be held annually.
