Islamabad: Federal Minister for Human Rights Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar has taken notice of the burning of a woman by her husband in Bahawalnagar.

He asked law enforcement agencies to immediately hold a transparent and impartial investigation into the incident.

The minister stressed the need for determining the facts of the case without delay and ensuring dispensation of justice.

He expressed confidence that the Punjab government and investigative authorities would take strict action against all culprits in accordance with the law.

Reiterating the government’s commitment to safeguarding women’s rights, the minister said that the protection and empowerment of women remained central pillars of Pakistan’s human rights policy.
