Islamabad:Secretary Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training Nadeem Mahbub on Friday inaugurated the third phase of the School Meal Programme during a visit to Islamabad Model School for Girls (I-X), Mohra Noor.
He said the milestone marked a significant expansion of the initiative, extending its reach to 19 schools across rural areas in Islamabad Capital Territory. Appreciating the ongoing programme, the secretary reaffirmed the federal government’s strong commitment to student health and well-being.
He served nutritious meals to children in the Early Childhood Education class. The secretary directed the food management teams to maintain strict quality assurance protocols, emphasising that ensuring students’ nutri- tion is a top national priority.
He said the ministry remained committed to nurturing healthy, skilled and future-ready stu-
dents through integrated programmes that addressed physical well-being. Officials said to further promote a holistic approach to student welfare, the visit also included establishment of an on-site health camp featuring eye screening and Body Mass Index assessment stations. They said those facilities would help create essential baseline health profiles for students, enabling better monitoring and support of their physical development.
