A wedding in India’s Bihar state was called off after a minor feud between the families of the bride and groom on the sweet dish rasgullah turned violent, prompting police intervention, Indian media reported.

The incident was caught on CCTV, showing both parties throwing plastic chairs at each other.

The wedding was being held in the hotel booked by the groom’s family.

The police said the fight began after the bride’s family found a shortage of rasgulla. Suddenly, it turned violent, leaving several injured from both parties.

Groom’s father confirmed that the feud started over the shortage, but the bride's family filed a case against the groom over asking for dowry.

Following the incident, the groom's family attempted to convince the bride’s family to proceed with the wedding, but they refused.

According to the groom, his family booked a hotel, arranged the event, gave gifts and jewellery to the bride and her family, but it was not returned.
