ISLAMABAD: The PTI founder has filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC), requesting permission to undergo medical tests and examinations in three days at the Shaukat Khanum Hospital.

The petition, filed through Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, states monthly medical check-ups and tests at Shaukat Khanum Hospital should be ordered for the PTI founder.

The PTI founder’s petition made Punjab Home Department Secretary, Inspector General of Prisons, Superintendent of Adiala Jail, Medical Superintendent and Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital respondents in the case.

The petition requests the court issue directions for monthly medical check-ups and tests at Shaukat Khanum Hospital for the PTI founder. It also seeks orders to grant full access to medical teams, and to allow medical examinations in accordance with his medical history and current health condition.

The petition further asks a copy of medical report be provided to PTI founder’s family and submitted to the court.

The petition states the PTI founder is a former prime minister and suffers from certain medical issues. It alleges he was convicted at the behest of current government as part of political victimisation.
