LAHORE: The Ministry of Interior has asked the Punjab government to urgently clarify whether it wants to extend the deployment of Pakistan Rangers (Punjab) in Mianwali, noting that the previously approved period has already expired.

In a letter addressed to the chief secretary and marked for the home secretary, the Ministry of Interior said the requisition for Rangers’ deployment sanctioned earlier on the province’s request ended on November 18, 2025. It stressed that Punjab must immediately confirm whether it seeks an extension “to avoid any legal implications.”
