LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Sunday received a detailed briefing on the Lahore Development Plan Phase-II and formally launched the project, which will see 6,284 streets across the city completely upgraded.
Authorities informed her that by June 30 next year, 5,798 streets under the Lahore Municipal Corporation and 486 streets under WASA would be developed and revamped. A monthly work plan was presented to ensure that every neighborhood of Lahore becomes bright and prosperous in stages.
Maryam directed the authorities concerned that there would be no compromise on the quality of work in the implementation of development plan. She stressed that delays in completion would not be tolerated.
The CM said every corner of Lahore would be made decay-free and respectable for citizens.
She added that with the upgradation of over 6,000 streets, every neighborhood in Lahore would become a symbol of pride for its residents.
