October 2025 witnesses 2°C warmer temperature

LAHORE: October 2025 witnessed +2.0°C warmer temperature in the country’s average nighttime (minimum) temperature, which was 17.23°C this year while the previous record was 15.24°C.

With this increase, October 2025 became the 6th October with highest nighttime temperature in the past 65 years while the national mean temperature of 24.43°C was also warmer than the country-average of 23.59°C with an anomaly of +0.9 °C. Data collected from the MET office revealed that the daytime (maximum) temperature of 31.59°C at country-level was near average with a positive anomaly of +0.1°C. The hottest day of the month was observed at Turbat (Balochistan) on 1st October when it recorded a maximum temperature of 43°C. Turbat also proved to be the warmest place with a mean monthly maximum temperature of 37.7°C.

Data further revealed that the coldest night temperature of 0.0°C of the month was recorded at Skardu (GB) during 29th to 31st October, whereas the same station happened to be the coldest place with mean monthly minimum temperature of 3.8°C. The national area-weighted rainfall of 12.2mm was largely above average with a positive anomaly of +53% in October-2025. The heaviest one-day rainfall of 75.0mm occurred at the Muzaffarabad Airport (AJK) on 7th October. The same station has been the wettest place with a monthly total of 129.6 mm.
