Pakistan has developed a weapon to intercept suicide drones coming from across the border. The SAFRAH drone jamming gun developed at the National Electronics Complex of Pakistan has started disabling kamikaze drones.
This jamming gun targets drones from a distance of one and a half kilometres, and disables it and its remote control. The gun is being exhibited at the Pakistan International Maritime Expo & Conference in Karachi.
Hamza Khalid, the manager of the company that has manufactured the gun, said that this weapon can be installed at the country’s borders, while it can also be used at major events in cities.
Khalid said the gun works at an angle of 30 degrees in a range of one and a half kilometres, while its angle can also be changed as needed. “The control of all drones coming in this range is gained or they are made to land near you by disabling them.”
He said drones coming from across the border can be easily targeted with the help of this gun. In response to a question, he pointed out that the weapon is fully capable of neutralising any number of drones coming from the enemy.
