Hi Ed,

I like reading Us magazine and appreciate the effort you put in making it so enjoyable to read. Recently, I have seen a change in the online reading format of the magazine where I can no longer click on the author's name to read their other work. In the past, the authors’ name and segments of the magazine were in blue with links to their catalogue, so I could easily read the other articles by a particular writer.

I think it was really helpful as it allowed me to read all the past articles by my favourite contributors to Us magazine. It would be very nice if that feature could be reinstated, as it would improve the overall reading experience.

Many thanks!

Qasim, Lahore

Thank you for your inquiry. We will pass your suggestion on to our online team and ask if they can reinstate links to the authors’ other works.

Youth’s potential not being realized

Dear Editor,

I am writing to emphasise the crucial, transformative and growing role of youth participation in activism and social change today. Young people are full of energy, creativity and fresh ideas, but in Pakistan there is a lack of youth participation and activism. Although young people form a large part of our population, many are not actively involved in social and national issues.

Moreover, the youth unemployment rate in Pakistan is very high, and a large percentage of young people are without jobs, which reduces their confidence and participation in society. There are hardly any opportunities for those entering the workforce each year.

Furthermore, due to a lack of proper guidance and education, many young people are not equipped with practical skills, which creates a gap between education and employment. As a result, even educated youth struggle to find jobs and become less active in bringing about change.

In conclusion, Pakistan has a large youth population, but a lack of opportunities, unemployment and poor guidance have weakened youth participation and activism. If this situation persists, it may turn the youth into a burden rather than a strength.
