- Has been married to producer Naomi Sablan since 2005. They have two children.

- Sci-fi adventure; a science teacher (Gosling) awakens on an interstellar spacecraft with no memory of how or why he ended up there and slowly realizes he is on a critical mission.
- Is based on the 2021 novel by Andy Weir. The rights for the novel were acquired for US$3 million.
- Has grossed over $300 million on a $248 million budget. Will need to gross at least $500 million to break even.
- Has received positive reviews, earning praise for its visuals and design as well as Gosling’s performance despite the film’s tonal issues and familiar elements.
- Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are also attached to direct the adaptation of Andy Weir’s Artemis as well as an original movie written by the author.
- Score composed by Daniel Pemberton. The film also includes songs by artists including The Beatles, Harry Styles, and Mercedes Sosa.
