QUETTA: Mobile phone signals and mobile data services were suspended across Quetta and several other districts of Balochistan on Sunday afternoon, causing difficulties for residents, businesses and the media.
According to sources, mobile phone services provided by all cellular companies were completely suspended after 2pm, while mobile data services were also shut down.
The suspension disrupted communication and internet-dependent activities, affecting people from different walks of life.
Meanwhile, security has been placed on high alert in Quetta, with police and security forces launching checking operations in various parts of the provincial capital.
Police and Frontier Corps personnel have established checkpoints at different locations and started checking vehicles as part of enhanced security measures.
The suspension of mobile services and intensified security checks came amid heightened security concerns in the provincial capital and other parts of the province.
