KARACHI: ABHI Microfinance Bank has received the Phoenix Award at Mobile Commerce 2026, a Pakistan-based platform focused on digital commerce, payments and financial technology, a statement said.
The award recognises the institution’s transformation and its efforts to strengthen operational resilience and expand digital banking capabilities.The bank said the recognition reflects its ongoing focus on broadening financial access for individuals, entrepreneurs and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across Pakistan.
The award was received by Chief Marketing Officer Sultan Zaidi on behalf of the bank. He said the recognition reflected the work of teams across the organisation and its focus on developing financial services aligned with changing customer needs in a digital economy.
Separately, Head of Digital Products Muhammad Khurram Shahzad participated in a panel discussion at the event titled ‘Digital Payments Revolution’, alongside industry participants.The discussion covered developments in Pakistan’s digital payments ecosystem, the role of artificial intelligence in financial services and issues related to financial inclusion.
ABHI Microfinance Bank said it is seeking to combine regulated banking operations with fintech-style product development, with an emphasis on expanding digital offerings and reaching underserved segments, including SMEs, salaried individuals and retail customers.The bank added that it aims to support broader financial inclusion and digital adoption within Pakistan’s banking sector.
