KARACHI: foodpanda Pakistan has launched a nationwide heat relief network for its delivery fleet as summer temperatures peak across the country, stated a press release on Friday.

The platform has set up 2,500 dedicated rest stations at partner restaurant locations in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, aiming to set a new benchmark for gig economy worker welfare during the hottest months of the year.

The initiative addresses both physical and mental wellbeing of riders. Water coolers have been installed at all pandamart outlets, while the company has partnered with juice brands for weekly distribution drives. Employees are set to personally distribute 5,000 juice units to riders as part of the campaign.

Weekly ‘Ice Cream Days’ and an upcoming ‘Mango Day’ have also been introduced to help riders cope with on road fatigue. Recreation programmes include water park trips, ‘Movie Days’ and an indoor snow experience for the fleet.

“Our delivery partners are the backbone of our ecosystem,” said Ahsan Malik, director logistics at foodpanda Pakistan. “We scaled to 2,500 rest stations so help is always within reach, pairing hydration with community events so our fleet feels valued and protected.”
