The Quaid-e-Azam House Museum (QAHM) Institute of Nation Building organised a talk by Muhammad Saeed Mehdi, author of ‘The Eyewitness’ and former principal secretary to prime minister Nawaz Sharif at the Flagstaff House, said a press release on Thursday.
The Eyewitness has been published by Lightstone Publishers. Liaquat Merchant, senior vice chairman of QAHM, welcomed the guests and Ameena Saiyid, member, board of governors, QAHM, introduced Saeed Mehdi. Raheela Baqai of Lightstone Publishers gave the vote of thanks.
Saeed Mehdi spoke to a packed hall about his decades of experience as a bureaucrat including how he received Benazir Bhutto from inside the plane when she arrived in Lahore in 1986, and ZA Bhutto’s time and execution in Rawalpindi when Saeed Mehdi was DC Rawalpindi. Saeed Mehdi’s talk held the audience in rapt attention. Present were Syed Khadim Ali Shah, Aftab Nabi, Salman Faruqui, Shanaz Wazir Ali, Mahtab Rashdi, Sirajuddin Aziz, Khurshid Hyder and many more.
