ISLAMABAD: The newly reconstituted Board of Governors (BoG) of the National Institute of Health (NIH), Islamabad, has initiated the process of appointing permanent heads of two of its key constituent institutions by scheduling interviews of shortlisted candidates for the posts of executive director of the Centre for Communicable Disease Control (CDC) and Vaccine and Biological Products Center (VBPC) on Thursday and Friday.

The interviews will be the first major assignment of the newly constituted Board, whose membership was completed following the appointment of Dr Farhan Isa Abdullah as a member through a notification issued by the Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination the other day.

Officials at the Ministry of National Health Services said the advertisements for the executive directors of the CDC and VBPC were published in October last year. However, despite completion of the recruitment process up to an advanced stage, appointments could not be finalised due to administrative reasons.
