ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s security forces on June 30 successfully intercepted and neutralised four rudimentary drones launched from across the border in Balochistan from territory under the control of the Afghan Taliban regime, according to ISPR.
The statement said that the drones were launched as part Afghan Taliban’s patronage and support for terrorist outfits operating from areas under its control. Pakistan’s air defence network detected the hostile aerial platforms immediately after they crossed the border. Security forces, demonstrating a high level of operational readiness, successfully neutralised all the four drones using advanced counter-drone measures before they could cause any damage.
The statement said the swift and effective response by the armed forces successfully foiled a malicious attempt to violate Pakistan’s airspace and security.
It further said that such actions by the Afghan Taliban were intended to divert the attention of the Afghan population from the challenges they face under the current administration. The statement urged the Afghan Taliban to abandon the sponsorship of terrorism and instead adhere to the principles of peaceful coexistence and good neighbourly relations. The statement also warned that any continued provocations or hostile actions against Pakistan would invite a strong and proportionate response.
It added that any cross-border misadventure or action threatening Pakistan’s sovereignty or the safety of its citizens would be met with a swift, decisive, and overwhelming response under Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq.
