LAHORE: The Punjab Assembly on Monday approved a supple- mentary budget of Rs554.826 billion for the fiscal year 2025– 26 after rejecting all opposition cut motions.
The opposition staged a walkout after being denied the opportunity to present all of
its cut motions on the floor of the House. The session also saw discussion on the Punjab Control of Habitual Offenders Bill 2026, with the government announcing the bill would be presented for approval in August. Heated exchanges were witnessed between treasury and opposition members over devel- opment projects, water issues, WASA services, and electric bus initiatives.
