ISLAMABAD: The federal government has issued a series of notifications announcing key appointments, transfers, deputations, and tenure extensions for officers serving in various ministries and departments.

Captain (retd) Muhammad Mahmood has been appointed as Secretary of the Housing and Works Division on a regular basis. He was previously serving as Chief Executive Officer of the Jinnah Medical Complex and Research Centre while also holding the additional charge of Housing and Works Division Secretary. His appointment has now been regularized.

The tenure of Muhammad Faisal Rana, a BS-20 officer of the Police Service of Pakistan, serving as Policy Coordination Officer at the United Nations Department of Peace Operations, has been extended until November 3, 2026. Upon completion of his assignment, he will report to the Establishment Division.

Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Rashid Mahmood has been granted one week’s leave from June 29 to July 6. During his absence, Member (Strategic Transformation) Dr. Hamid Atiq Sarwar has been assigned the additional charge of FBR Chairman.

The services of Deputy Secretary Asia Gul of the Inter-Provincial Coordination Division have been placed at the disposal of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). Meanwhile, the tenure of Director Miss Benazir, posted in the Directorate General Ports and Shipping Wing, Karachi, has been extended for another year until June 5, 2027.

The deputation period of BS-18 officer Mohsin Ali Shah in the Sindh Revenue Board has also been extended by one year. In another development, Medical Officer Dr. Fatima Bibi has been transferred from the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Islamabad. Similarly, Sarfaraz Hussain, General Manager (Audit) of the Northern Areas Transport Corporation (NATCO) under the Gilgit-Baltistan government, has been transferred and appointed as Deputy Director in Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal.

The federal government has also cancelled the appointment of Muhammad Shahzad as Section Officer in the Economic Affairs Division. Additionally, Abdul Rauf Babar, a BS-18 officer of the Police Service of Pakistan, has been transferred from the Punjab government to the government of Balochistan. The services of Muhammad Sami Malik, also a BS-18 Police Service officer, along with BS-18 officer Faryal Farid, have been placed at the disposal of the government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Muhammad Ijaz Khan has been appointed as Secretary of the Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) on deputation for a period of three years. Before his appointment, he was serving as Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Interior.

Dr. Jahan Zeb has also been appointed as Medical Officer at the Federal Government Polyclinic, Islamabad, on deputation for a period of three years. The Establishment Division has issued notifications.
