Addressing a press conference after inaugurating the AI Summer Camp for children at the Governor House on Monday, he said that Pakistan’s future was closely linked with modern education, information technology and artificial intelligence. With this objective, the AI Summer Camp for children had been launched at the Governor House to prepare the younger generation for the demands of the future, he added.
The governor said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s vision placed special emphasis on artificial intelligence and concrete steps were being taken to promote this sector. He added that talented children and young people would not be held back due to a lack of resources; instead, they would be provided with equal access to modern education and technology.
He said the laptop scheme launched by former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was a significant initiative to connect young people with modern education, while the AI Summer Camp was another important step in the same direction.
Hashmi said that today’s children would lead the IT and artificial intelligence revolution in Pakistan in the future. He added that his dream was to see every child in Sindh equipped with modern education and playing a meaningful role in building a developed and prosperous Pakistan.
He further stated that under the leadership of the prime minister and field marshal, Pakistan’s stature had been elevated on the global stage, and the younger generation would further enhance the country’s reputation through their talent and achievements.
He added that children were the nation’s identity and future, and therefore, they should be provided with the best opportunities to learn and develop their skills even during school vacations.
The governor announced that admission to the AI Summer Camp would be granted strictly on merit to every child who knew how to use a mobile phone. He said that the objective of the camp was to transform children’s summer vacations into a productive period filled with learning, creativity and skill development.
