RAWALPINDI: Security forces have eliminated eight terrorists in two intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Kharan and Mastung districts of Balochistan.
On Thursday and Friday, the security forces conducted IBOs as part of relentless counter-terrorism campaign aimed at eliminating Indian proxy Fitna Al Hindustan and eliminated eight terrorists, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement said.
On Thursday, on intelligence leads, movement of a group of terrorists was picked up by the security forces in Kharan. As a result of precise and skillful engagement, three terrorists belonging to Indian proxy Fitna Al Hindustan were sent to hell while several others were injured. In another engagement on June 26, a pre-emptive IBO was conducted in Mastung against the possible presence of a suicide bomber. During the operation, own troops effectively engaged the terrorist location and after an intense fire exchange, five terrorists, including the suicide bomber, were successfully neutralised, the statement said.
Weapons, ammunition, improvised explosive devices and motorbikes used by these terrorists were also recovered. Sanitization operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored terrorist found in the area.
Meanwhile, President Asif Ali Zardari appreciated the security forces for successfully carrying out operations against terrorists of Fitna Al Hindustan. The president said the elimination of terrorists reflected the professionalism and determination of security forces.
He commended the officers and personnel who participated in the operations, praising their courage, professional competence and sacrifices in the fight against terrorism, President Secretariat Media Wing said in a press release.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also praised the security forces saying that brave forces had eliminated terrorists, thwarting their nefarious terrorist designs, the PM Office Media Wing said in a press release. He reaffirmed that operations against terrorists associated with Fitna Al Hindustan would continue until they reached their logical conclusion. He said Pakistan’s efforts would continue until the complete eradication of all forms of terrorism from the country.
