Islamabad:Stewart Pakistan, in collaboration with Alight Pakistan, has formally launched the first cohort of Tech Her Forward, an initiative aimed at equipping young women from underserved communities with modern digital and IT skills and enabling them to play an active role in Pakistan’s emerging digital economy, says a press release.
The inauguration ceremony was held at the Zaha Hadid Skills Center in Silicon Village, Pakistan’s largest technology park located at Capital Smart City, Islamabad. The event marked an important step toward the program’s implementation. Senior leadership from Stewart Pakistan and Alight Pakistan, development partners, and distinguished guests attended the ceremony. Participants reaffirmed their commitment to empowering young women by providing access to modern technology and equal opportunities, enabling them to become economically independent.
Natalie A. Baker, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim at the US Embassy in Pakistan, attended as chief guest and described the initiative as forward-looking and impactful. She said: “Initiatives like Tech Her Forward are essential to ensure that young women gain the skills and opportunities required to fully participate in the digital economy. Empowering women through education and technology is the foundation of sustainable and inclusive development for all Pakistanis.
