Islamabad: A 16-year-old girl who went missing from Sangjani area remained unrecovered, prompting her family to appeal to senior police officials for urgent intervention over concerns that the prime suspects may flee the city.
The missing teenager, identified as NA, disappeared on June 17 from the Sarai Kharboza, Gulshan Abad neighborhood, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Sangjani Police Station. In connection with the disappearance, the family has nominated three individuals in their complaint -- Usman, his mother Anwar Bibi, and his wife.
According to the family, the suspects are tenants in the area and originally hail from Bahawalpur. The complainants stated that the nominated individuals have provided highly contradictory and unclear statements regarding the girl’s whereabouts, causing severe distress and anxiety to the family. Due to the suspects’ status as non-local tenants, the family expressed strong fears that they might abruptly vacate their residence, leave Islamabad, and evade law enforcement entirely.
According to police sources, the case has been transferred to the Special Surveillance and Investigation Unit based at the Ramna Police Station to expedite the inquiry. Inspector Malik Hayat has been formally assigned as the investigating officer for the case.
