KARACHI: The National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) conducted a tree plantation activity at Clifton Urban Forest as part of its efforts to promote environmental sustainability and climate resilience, according to a press release issued last week.
The initiative aimed to support environmental conservation and encourage community engagement while contributing to a greener, healthier Pakistan.Speaking on the occasion, NBP Group Chief Operations Faisal Ahmed Topra said the plantation drive formed part of the bank’s long-term commitment to creating a positive impact for communities and future generations. He added that the bank sought to raise awareness about environmental protection and encourage employee participation in sustainability initiatives.
Clifton Urban Forest founder Masood Lohar said urban forestry was essential for a city the size of Karachi and urged organisations to adopt similar initiatives nationwide. He said the forest’s team would ensure proper maintenance of the saplings so they could grow into healthy trees within three to five years.
