LAHORE: Commissioner Lahore Division Marryam Khan Saturday conducted review visits regarding Muharram procession routes arrangements. Marryam Khan and RPO, Sheikhupura Range, Athar Ismail visited Sheikhupura district and reviewed the security and municipal arrangements on the Muharram routes. The commissioner visited the procession routes of Sheikhupura Markazi Imambargah Kalan, Imambargah Shan Hussain and Imambargah Gulistan Zahra.
She reviewed the availability of the administration’s Muharram camps, water and other facilities on the Muharram routes. On this occasion, DC, Sheikhupura, Shahid Imran Marth and DPO Bilal Zafar Sheikh gave a briefing on Muharram arrangements.
They gave a briefing on security at the District Safe City Centre and Muharram Monitoring Police Line. Commissioner said that while giving instructions to the district administration, he said ACs should take Muharram Roots Clearance Certificates from the officers concerned and there will be no compromise. Marryam Khan met the organisers and licence holders of the central Imambargahs. The organisers expressed satisfaction with the arrangements made by the district administration.
The organisers of Muharram processions and Majalis assured full cooperation with the district administration and police measures.
Speaking on the occasion, the commissioner said instructions of the CM are clear, adding the CM is monitoring the Muharram arrangements herself. She said all arrangements have been ensured as per the government instructions and SOPs, patchwork, lighting and drainage arrangements have been ensured on Muharram routes. The commissioner said that the DC and DPO are in full contact with all stakeholders.
RPO Athar Ismail said that there is zero tolerance for every hate speech and writing, immediately confirm any rumour, information and news with the administration.
