PESHAWAR: A number of senior officers of different cadres are waiting for promotion to grade 22 as the meeting of the High Powered Selection Board (HPSB) for promotions had to be postponed twice due to the engagements of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

This has also delayed the meeting of the Central Selection Board, responsible for promotions from grade 20 to 21 and from 19 to grade 20.

An official informed that the meeting of the HPSB was to be held initially in April but it was postponed twice due to the busy schedule of the prime minister and the deputy prime minister.

There are officers who retired after attaining the age of superannuation without promotion to the next grade due to the delay of the HPSB and CSB meetings.

Some senior bureaucrats from the Pakistan Administrative Service, Police Service of Pakistan and various other cadres are waiting for promotion to grade 22, while others are looking for promotion to grade 21 and grade 20 for a long time.
