MANSEHRA: A woman tourist from the Sheikhupura area in Punjab was killed, and seven other members of her family sustained injuries when a car collided head-on with a pick-up vehicle in the Mahandri area of Kaghan valley.
“All eight people travelling in the badly damaged vehicle were shifted to a health facility, where doctors pronounced one of them dead,” Ibrar Ali, district emergency officer of Rescue 1122, told reporters on Saturday.
The tourists were returning to Sheikhupura after a recreational trip to Kaghan valley when an upcoming pickup vehicle collided with their car, leaving all eight on board injured.
The rescuers and residents shifted the injured to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital in Balakot, where doctors pronounced Saima Bibi dead.
The injured, including Asim Uzarudden, Raza Waris, Abdul Rehman, Ali Raza, Dua Bibi, Wafa Bibi and Khatija Bibi, were referred to King Abdullah Teaching Hospital, Mansehra, for further treatment.
