A 15-year-old boy was killed after a tractor-trolley collided with a motorcycle near Do Minute Chowrangi in North Karachi on Thursday.
The accident occurred within the jurisdiction of Bilal Colony police station when a tractor-trolley struck a motorcycle carrying the victim and his uncle. Following the accident, enraged citizens at the scene caught the tractor-trolley driver and allegedly subjected him to physical assault before the police intervened The body of the deceased teenager and the injured driver were taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
The victim was identified as Asghar, son of Iqbal, aged 15. He hailed from Shujaabad in Multan district, Punjab. Family members said Asghar worked as a carpenter and was travelling with his maternal uncle when the accident occurred.
Speaking at the hospital, the victim’s uncle, Ghulam Fareed, said they were travelling from Abdullah Chowk towards UP Mor when the tractor-trolley first hit and knocked down two or three motorcyclists on its left side before suddenly swerving to the right and colliding with their motorcycle.
